Not all products have the same impact on your operation. Without proper ABC classification, you might treat a low-cost supply the same as a key component that could stop an entire production line if it’s missing.


c) Outdated or inaccurate inventory.


If what the system shows doesn’t match what’s actually on the shelf, the entire supply chain cycle breaks. Many times, “it’s out of stock” simply because the system said “it was available.”


d) Poor communication between departments.


Warehouse, purchasing, and operations must work as one integrated system. If the purchasing department doesn’t understand the real urgencies of operations, inventory will never be aligned with actual needs.
